Skirtings

Man has used wood as a building material for many years and the natural beauty of the material makes it ideal for decorative uses.

There are many different ways that timber mouldings can be used. In fact the limit is set only by your own imagination.

Whether you are using decorative mouldings to finish off a project or using ornamental mouldings to dress a piece of furniture, the effect is the same, something plain and ordinary becomes something of beauty and value.

There are many ddifferent timbers used in producing mouldings. By far the most popular is Pine, which is chosen because it is available in large quantities, is relatively inexpensive and suits many home styles around today. Other timbers widely used for mouldings would be Ramin (a light hardwood) and Cambara or Dark Red Meranti (both dark hardwoods). In addition some Beech, Oak and Poplar is also used for mouldings.
